CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) – Closing arguments are scheduled Tuesday in the six-week trial of a man accused in the disappearance and presumed death of his daughter.
Aaron Thompson faces dozens of charges, including fatal child abuse in the disappearance of his daughter, Aarone (AIR’-uh-nay). She was reported missing in November 2005.
Prosecutors say Thompson killed his daughter while punishing her for bed wetting and told seven other children living with him to lie about her whereabouts.
Thompson’s attorneys told jurors that Aarone was killed by Thompson’s live-in girlfriend who died in May 2006.
A judge Monday declined to dismiss charges after prosecutors failed to disclose they had found a car that witnesses say was used to transport Aarone’s body.
